Embracing the Shadow
The parts of ourselves which we wish to keep hidden are referred to as the shadow self.
Learning to embrace even the parts of ourselves that are difficult to accept, or wouldn’t be palatable to others is a difficult but important feat, which requires practice.
Learning to accept that we are multifaceted beings that are built with both shadow and light helps us to understand, control and integrate this, our shadow self.
When we shine a light on our shadow,
we become conscious of the unconscious
and gift ourselves with the power of conscious choice.
